Plate Collection for November 1
Climate Justice is one of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee’s
four areas of focus. The climate crisis threatens us all, but its
consequences are not borne equally. Communities that are already
marginalized and too often overlooked frequently suffer the greatest
harm, with the fewest resources to respond. True to its mission, UUSC
directs its efforts toward those most affected and least supported.
Working in more than 20 countries, from Bangladesh to Ukraine to the
Solomon Islands, UUSC partners with local organizations, providing
essential funding and practical support to help communities confront the
climate crisis. Among its most powerful initiatives is bringing together
representatives of climate justice organizations, for example those across
the Pacific. They exchange strategies, strengthen collaboration, and
advance community-led solutions to urgent challenges such as water
insecurity, the loss of coastal resources, and threats to livelihoods.
