The UU Urban Ministry's Makanda Project Returns!

The Makanda Project is a 13-piece Boston-based jazz ensemble dedicated to exploring and performing the music of Makanda Ken McIntyre, the influential Roxbury-born composer, saxophonist, and educator. Since 2005, the group has presented free concerts throughout Roxbury while helping preserve and celebrate an important piece of Boston's cultural and musical history. Their performances bring together exceptional musicianship, community engagement, and a deep appreciation for the artistic legacy of Roxbury.
