Plate Collection for September 20

Our September plate collections benefit youth service organizations, and this week our recipient is the Wellesley A Better Chance program.

Since 1972 Wellesley ABC has opened doors to greater educational opportunities for academically talented and promising young women of color, providing them with A Better Chance of educational preparedness.  These scholars attend Wellesley High School and live in a family style home with tutoring, meals, medical and social/emotional support.  The program is overseen by resident directors and an army of volunteers.

Wellesley ABC depends solely on local donations to fulfill its mission.  Your donation will also honor the commitment of Alice Robinson, a member of our congregation from 1995 until her death in July 2020, who was one of the early organizers.
