Plate Collection for September 13

Future Chefs, based in Roxbury, empowers Boston youth—many of whom face significant challenges at home—to take charge of their futures by building skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose. Through the culinary arts, the organization gives young people the opportunity to develop the personal and professional skills they need to succeed in work and in life.

Future Chefs offers three sequential programs designed to prepare teens for the full expectations of adult employment. Students begin with a short-term introductory program. They then progress to a paid after-school work and service program for high school juniors and seniors. Following high school graduation, participants can remain connected through a program that provides continued support as they pursue next steps into adulthood.
