The Social Action Updates include information on the things we are involved with that can help others. In this section of each update, we will also include information on organizations that can help with a specific issue of concern, such as transgender rights and support.
Pink Haven Coalition
UUSC has increased its support for the Pink Haven Coalition, which is welcoming trans and non-binary people who are moving from red states to blue states. Click HERE for more information. The Coalition supports moves to safer states for trans individuals, helps people get gender affirming care, and provides other resources for trans people. OUT MetroWest is involved in supporting trans individuals. In addition to their other programs for LGBTQ youth, they have a program called Umbrella, which is a trans-facilitated program for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-questioning youth in grades 6-12.

GLAD
GLAD works with organizations that support the LGBTQ+ community. Below is a link to a list of community and support resources and organizations that help transgender people and their loved ones in Massachusetts. Click HERE for more information.
They also have a guide for trans allies. This GUIDE includes tips to be a better ally, as well as information about legislation affecting transgender people.
On that same page there is a section about these issues:
- We need to pass the Equality Act.
- Transgender children do not feel safe at school.
- Treatment of trans people by the criminal justice system.
- Violence against transgender people.
Each of these issues includes a Take Action section if you want to learn more or take action. And the website also includes a large and detailed resources list.
