Our monthly plate collection theme for April is International Outreach and Sunday’s collection will benefit our Transylvanian Partner Church in Torockó, Romania. In recent years, we have collected funds to supplement the minister’s salary to insure that he receives a living wage. Right now he earns only $564 per month beyond his housing, making it difficult for him to cover extraordinary expenses—like a new car! Earlier this year, his 23-year-old car finally had to be replaced. Later this spring, we will have another collection to fund a summer camp program. And later this year, we hope to welcome Rev. Martón and his wife Lilla to Wellesley and renew our special relationship.
